Sterling & Hunter brings British accounting and tax expertise together with genuine, on-the-ground experience of living and doing business in the UAE. We are here for people whose lives and businesses do not fit neatly into one jurisdiction.
Why Sterling and Hunter exists
When Kate moved to the UAE, she found one accountant looking at the UK, another looking at the UAE, and no one taking responsibility for the full picture.
The same gap affected other British expats, founders and families.
Kate reconnected with Matt and Mitch, friends from their early years in UK practice. Together, they brought tax, accountancy, business experience and long-standing UAE knowledge into one firm.
A name rooted in reputation and heritage
Sterling reflects the firm's British heritage and the reputation we intend to build: trusted, dependable and known for high standards. Hunter comes from Kate's family connection to the Scottish Hunter Clan.
Together, the name gives the firm an identity of its own, grounded in integrity, professionalism and a personal history that means something to us.
Meet the founders
Three founders, complementary experience and one shared standard of exceptional client care.
CTA, ATT and AAT qualified, Kate has more than 20 years' tax experience. She leads the firm's UAE work across corporate tax, VAT, company setup and cross-border advice, drawing on her own experience of moving to the UAE.
An ACCA Chartered Certified Accountant, Matt leads the firm's accountancy work across the UK and the UAE. He helps clients understand the numbers, not simply meet a filing requirement.
Mitch brings tax expertise and experience of building and running a UK accountancy practice. He leads the UK business with Matt and keeps cross-border decisions joined up.
